AI Lab

We have been working on the basic research of artificial intelligence in a broad sense and its application to aerospace engineering and other fields. In the midst of the third artificial intelligence boom, we try to remain grounded not to be carried away by the prevailing trends. We engage in the artificial intelligence research in two ways: as an “objective”, that is, to explore what is intelligence and how to approach it; and as a “means”, that is, to develop how artificial intelligence should be used.

We are a group of the Artificial Intelligence Category, the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), the University of Tokyo. The office is located at the Komaba II Campus (Komaba Research Campus). See Contact for details.
We accept graduate students of the Department of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies (only doctoral course) and the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics (master’s and doctoral courses).
