Artificial Intelligence Lab.

We have been working on the basic research of artificial intelligence in a broad sense and its application to aerospace engineering and other fields. In the midst of the third artificial intelligence boom, we remain grounded without being carried away by the prevailing trends — we engage in the artificial intelligence research in two ways: as an “objective”, that is, to explore “what is intelligence” and “how to approach natural intelligence;” and as a “means”, that is, to develop “how artificial intelligence should be used”.

The Artificial Intelligence Category belongs to the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) of the University of Tokyo. We are at the Komaba Research Campus (see Contact). We accept graduate students of the Department of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies (doctoral course) and the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics (master’s and doctoral courses).
